Re: Hurrah for rocket science

Did you learn nothing from Star Trek?

Men in skin-tight suits are not hot. A certain amount of tightness about the shoulders and torso is nice, and a well fitting butt is essential. But there are some *cough* areas that should not be emphasised in the skin-tight hi-tech fabric kind of way.

Cowboys are hotter than astronauts this season..

Re: Hurrah for rocket science

You could always dismiss gravity as 'only a theory' like the ID guys do with evolution.

That way your saggy bits (should you choose to become a mid-life astronaut)are only repulsive in theory.

Now, about those cowboy pants....

Re: Hurrah for rocket science

at this point I'd just like to clarify that you're not imaging naked guys wearing nothing BUT chaps..

Re: Hurrah for rocket science

hang on, sling shotting a probe around a planet to get "free" extra speed isn't fun?

That's maths that kicks ass if ever I've seen it...

Re: Hurrah for rocket science

you're forgetting that actual astronauts are the kind of uber over achievers that make folk we know look, well, pedestrian.. and this includes fitness, not just having more degrees than a protractor..

Re: Hurrah for rocket science

I am beginning to think that this whole "reusability" thing is just a political red herring.. as nifty as it would be to have battlestar galactica style orbital vehicles, with current tech, it just doesn't seem as financially practical as biffing a gigantic load of stored energy underneath whatever-it-is-we-wanted-up-there-in-the-first-place..

Re: Hurrah for rocket science

they should be chucking things up there and leaving it up there so that people can use it. how else will we start a space faring civilization. recycling is the key!

Re: Hurrah for rocket science

they ARE chucking things up there and leaving it. It's called space debris, and it's actually a huge pain in the ass :)
